daal’mist
DAHL-mist
Mist that gathers in valleys overnight and is exhaled when the sun rises. The valley breathes it out like a slow exhalation at dawn.
Etymology
Shetlandic dialect. One of many Shetland words for specific conditions of mist, fog, and sea-weather, reflecting an island culture that needed precise language for what the air was doing.
